Making Sure Your Visit Is a Success

At Waterford Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics of Dublin, you can expect a one-of-a-kind dental experience. We are currently welcoming new patients and look forward to meeting you and your child. But before we do, we want to make sure you are prepared for the initial visit. This is why you can review the details provided below to learn how we plan to make your appointment a success.

Your First Visit

When arriving for your child’s appointment, your little one will enjoy various kid-friendly amenities in our waiting area, including toys, colors, televisions, and other fun activities. Once in a treatment room, we will show your child the various instruments we use and explain how they work, as this helps to reduce any fear they might have. When they’re ready, one of our dental assistants will begin to clear away any plaque and tartar from their teeth, giving their smile a thorough polishing, before taking digital X-rays for our dentists to review. A board-certified pediatric dentist will then come in to examine your child’s smile and review the images before developing a treatment plan. If preventive services like fluoride or dental sealants are necessary, we can administer them before you and your child leave.

Dental Insurance

At Waterford Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics of Dublin, we understand that dental care and orthodontics can be a costly investment for families. With prices increasing on virtually everything around us, it’s important that we work to keep oral healthcare accessible and affordable. This is why we are pleased to be an insurance-friendly practice that is in-network with multiple dental insurance plans. If you have questions about your policy or want to learn how we can help you save, call us today.

Understanding How Dental Insurance Works

Dental insurance is designed to cover services that are considered preventive and restorative. This means that if your child’s oral health is at risk, the treatment options used to minimize the risk and improve oral and overall health will be covered in part or in full. By paying monthly premiums, your child’s benefits are made available once you meet your deductible. Then, you can expect your dental insurance company to pay more for the services your child receives.

What Your Dental Insurance Plan Covers

Our dental team will make a note of your dental insurance when you call to schedule an appointment. After reviewing your plan, we’ll identify ways to help you save each time you come in. Although each plan is different, many of the benefits are quite similar and may look something like the following:

  • 100% preventive care
  • 80% minor restorative care
  • 50% major restorative care

Preventive services are considered the most beneficial treatments your child can receive. Not only are they covered in full by most dental insurance companies, but these visits reduce the chances of your child experiencing decay, cavities, and other similar problems that require costlier restorative care.
